Instead of throwing a birthday party for herself and inviting her friends, a 6-year-old girl from Chicago, Illinois hosted one for the homeless people in her community instead; and the post has touched a lot of people that they pitched in so she could share some care packages as party loot bags! Isn’t that great?
Months before her birthday, Armani Crews already spoke about throwing a birthday party for the homeless in Chicago’s East Garfield Park neighborhood. Her parents, Antoine and Artesha Crews, revealed that they soon realized the girl was serious when her March 5 birthday drew nearer.
Artesha recalled telling Armani she would make sandwiches for the homeless but the girl replied, “No. I want the same thing we’d have at my birthday party.”
So, the proud parents bought party food for Armani’s homeless guests. They prepared chicken, pasta, cookies, cake, mashed potatoes, beans, fruit, and water – just as they would if they had thrown her a party with her friends.
When their fellow church members heard about Armani’s unique birthday party, they decided to pitch in by buying various toiletries so she could share party loot bags that are best suited for her guests. Each pack contains deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, and even a snack bar!
Mommy Artesha revealed, “She was excited. She was happy. Everybody was being fed. One of the gentleman said he hadn’t had a hot meal in a long time.”
When asked how she feels about her party, Armani replied, “It was nice to be nice.”
Keep it up, kiddo! You are a huge inspiration to us…
