A seven-year-old Filipino-American girl named Jenna Charlize Viloria recently received the “Every Day Hero Award” awarded by the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services Department for her bravery is saving her own dad’s life.
Giovani Viloria went into diabetic shock (hypoglycemia triggered by too much insulin in the body) inside their house in Silver Spring, Maryland (US).
It was a good thing that Jenna found her dad and immediately did something that she was taught since she was 3 years old: call 911.
Calm and collected, the young girl was able to provide the operator with their home address after explaining the situation. Within minutes, paramedics arrived and were able to revive her dad.
When Giovani came to, he was surprised to see plenty of people inside their bedroom. He was even more surprised and thankful when the medics informed him that it was Jenna who called 911 and there was a huge possibility that if she hadn’t done that, he would have passed away from diabetic shock!
This girl surely deserves her ‘hero’ medal!
