The First United Methodist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina (US) has shared a photo of an offering envelope which was said to contain only 18 cents yet the message the anonymous donor had written has touched the lives of the people in that church as well as thousands of netizens who saw the photo on social media.
“After the service we have a couple of people called counters who process the offerings and put them in our safe,” revealed Pastor Patrick Hamrick. “The secretary called me over and in the envelope was a dime, a nickel, and three cents. That was the 18 cents. We flipped it over and the note was there.”
The note read, “Please don’t be mad. I don’t have much. I’m homeless. God Bless.”
Of course, no one was mad at the anonymous donor. In fact, everyone was quite touched by the action, especially considering that 18 cents might be a very small amount of money for many people yet this could have been a fortune to that homeless person.
