A young man was brought to the police station in Ayungon Police Station in Ayungon, Negros Oriental in central Philippines because he was found roaming the streets of Barangay Calag-Calag but no one knew him there.
At the police station, no one could also identify the young man but it was soon clear to everything that not only was he deaf and mute, he also seems to have special needs and could not understand what they were asking/telling him.
Since the young man looked like he had been in the streets for a long time, one of the cops assigned at the station, PO3 Domingo Oplimo, bathed the young man outside the police station and gave him some clothes to use. Afterwards, the still unidentified young man was fed by the cops at the station and held there – though not as a regular detainee but just for safekeeping until kin will come forward to get him.
We hope this young man will be found by his family soon…
