Devastated Mommy Dog Who Lost All Her Puppies in a Fire, Happy Again after Adopting Some Orphans!

A dog named Daisy had seven puppies which she lovingly cared for in her owner’s farm but all the babies died when the barn they used as a home accidentally burned down to the ground. But the devastated mom was happy again after becoming a ‘foster mom’ to puppies whose mother died while birthing them.

Jessica Woodruff, Daisy’s human mommy, saw how happy Daisy was with her own puppies. Despite them providing her with a cozy spot inside their home, she wanted to raise the babies in the barn along with the other animals in the farm. So, Daisy let her be.

But a fire gutted down the barn on February 20.

We had a nice bed made for Daisy to have her pups inside but she found her own spot down at the barn. We noticed the fire and it was too late,” Jessica recalled.

The family had not only lost the entire barn but also Daisy’s seven puppies as well as four goats and one pig.

Daisy [wandered] the 80+ acres lost, sad and confused. As a mother, I couldn’t fathom her loss,” Jessica revealed.

Then, she suddenly had this brilliant idea of finding puppies for Daisy! Her sister Jacque Barnett posted an announcement on Facebook, asking those whose puppies needed fostering to share them with the heartbroken mommy dog for a while.

A local radio station also aired the plea for help – and someone whose mommy dog recently died, heard the news! Not only did this person happen to have eight newborn puppies whose mom died birthing them, he also happened to be also within driving distance from Woodruff’s farm.

Daisy received the new litter the following day.

Daisy was in heaven! It was so amazing to see the change. She had purpose again. She laid down to feed them, cleaned them, and even protects them,” Jessica revealed.

The arrangement was, however, temporary and the pups will be back to their owner when they are old enough to be weaned but it was already a joy for Jessica to have Daisy foster these babies and see the dog happy again.

Isn’t this nice?
