Escapee Back in Jail after Asking TV Station to Change Mugshot Photos Shared in Viral Facebook Post While She’s on the Run

She’s on the run from the cops after escaping from Surry Hills Corrective Services Cell Complex in Surry Hills, New South Wales in Australia but 18-year-old Amy Sharp just could not resist asking a TV station to change her mugshot photos after they shared two unflattering ones in their now-viral Facebook post.

Although she was incarcerated for petty crimes like vandalism and wasn’t considered a threat to the public, the cops still wanted her back in jail to serve her sentence.

She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 162cm tall, with light brown hair and of slim build. Amy is considered a low risk to the public and was in custody for property offences. Police have urged members of the public not to approach Amy, but to contact triple zero (000) immediately,” part of the cops’ Facebook post read. Two of her photos were posted – and these did seem a little unflattering.

Upon seeing the post on the TV station’s page, Sharp commented to ask the station to change the mugshots to a more flattering photo, instead – and shared a better, slimmer photo of herself! LOL.

She was caught a few hours later at Wentworth Park, actually just a short distance from where she escaped the cops. Netizens believe that the cops were able to trace her whereabouts after she posted the comment.

Sharp is now facing additional charges for escaping lawful custody. And to add insult to injury, the TV station still used the original mugshots in follow-up posts relevant to her case, despite her request for them to use the more flattering snapshots!
