With Mother’s Day and the Olympics 2016 in Rio just around the corner, P&G (Procter & Gamble) has debuted its latest “Thank You, Mom” ad on the internet and it has gone viral. The video was created by Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, Ore., and directed by Jeff Nichols of Rattling Stick.
This time, the marketer has both broadened the scope of why it’s celebrating moms and zeroed in on a particular attribute—their strength.
The heartwarming video has captured the hearts of a million viewers and stirred reaction from around the world. It shows us a 2-minute video that follows athletes from their childhood tumbles to their triumphs at the Olympics with the tagline,“It takes someone strong to make someone strong, thank you, Mom.” What made the video so popular is that it doesn’t just tell an inspiring story, it also makes the viewers feel something tugging at their heartstrings.
