Woody’s owner died and the family sold the house but left him there. For a year, Woody lived in a nearby shed, venturing off to look for food and water which the neighbors kindly left outside their homes for him.

Despite the food and water he receives from the neighbors, Woody’s condition deteriorated because no one was really actually looking out for his well-being. His thick coat had become matted and one eye had gone blind.

Eldad Hagar of the Animal Rescue Organization Hope for Paws received a call to rescue him. They found the poor dog shivering in fear. They managed to coax him outside his hiding place.

Bringing him home, they shaved off the thick matted hair and bathed him. Even with the blind eye, Woody now looks a whole lot better than his first rescue picture.
