Australian-born fighter Jeff Horn has long been asking for Manny Pacquaio to fight him in the boxing ring. It looks like his prayers have been answered as the two are going to meet in the ring on July 2 at Suncorp Stadium in Queensland, Australia.
It can be remembered that Pacquiao’s camp earlier pulled their champ from the match against Horn back in April, in hopes that they would get a dream match against UAE’s Brit Amir Khan, ‘which was little more than a mirage in the desert.’
Now, Pacquiao got an ultimatum from his promoter, Top Rank’s Bob Arum, to fight against Horn or he might not be able to get a boxing match till November.
Arum told the Manila Bulletin: “They have to make a decision by Wednesday (Thursday in Manila).”
“Unless it’s a big fight, we are looking at Manny fighting outside the US,” says Arum.
Arum wants Pacquiao to defend the World Boxing Organization welterweight crown against the number 2 seed Horn this coming July 2.
The fight would take place in July, and Arum wants Pacquiao to fight against the Brisbane fighter since the Australian government wants it to happen as they have long been awaiting for the dream boxing match.
Arum noted that there are lots of fighters outside the US who want to fight against Pacquiao. However, the problem would be the people’s champ schedule as he is not only busy with his boxing career but also in being one of the senators of the Philippines.
