Thanks to the honesty and transparency offered by the Duterte administration, more Filipinos have come to trust in the government and have become more willing to help out – that is seen in the steady stream of donations to Duterte’s Kitchen, for example.
Another great example to this came in the form of a jumbo balikbayan box filled with donations from overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Hong Kong who sent the foods to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The donation was coursed through DSWD leader-volunteer Mocha Uson.
In a post on Facebook, DSWD Sec. Judy M. Taguiwalo shared photos of the balikbayan box and some of its contents. According to her, the contents will be sorted and a corresponding report will be generated for transparency.
The donations will be distributed to orphans and kids.
Many netizens were happy to hear the good news about this donation; though there were those who commented that they had also done the same thing during the Yolanda operations but they alleged that the goods didn’t reach the victims.
