LOOK: Shameless Foreigners Slammed for Begging Money in Poor Countries So They Can Travel the World

There are lots of beautiful tourist spots in Asia – and this is the reason why lots of foreigners visit the region but considering that a significant number of the people in the region are poor and don’t really travel for leisure, netizens feel that it is unfair for them to be the ones to fund these travelers’ trips.

With travel, especially to exotic places like Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines are considered a luxury that many people couldn’t really afford, these travelers are making their way into these countries just by begging money in the streets.

Amazingly, they actually get lots of sympathy from the locals and do receive money to buy food, stay in a decent hotel, and get on transportation to their next destination.

But a lot of netizens feel angry over the presence of many foreigners in several poor countries in Asia because these people are begging money so they can travel the world. Many netizens feel that while these foreigners are simply begging from the streets and waiting for people to give them money, their actions are ‘robbing’ the poor.

While these foreigners are also going to rich places such as Singapore to beg money, many locals were outraged that they are ‘taking’ money from those who are truly needy, the ones who deserve to receive help instead of these travelers who simply ask for funds to finance their lifestyle choices.

Some of these foreigners actually do stuff like sing, dance, play music, or do magic tricks to entertain people to earn money – and it is the locals’ choice to freely give to these ‘beg-packers’ (beggar backpackers) yet many might just feel that they have to give, mostly because Asians are big on empathy and feeling sorry for those who have no money and are away from their families!

Have you given money to these beg-packers? If ever you see one, would you give them some money?
