Netizens Mock Witness’ Hilariously Poor Sketch of Suspect, Express Amazement after Cops Identified the Man

Have you ever been amazed at how artists working for the police department actually make accurate cartographic sketches based on witnesses’ description of the person/s involved in an incident?

Well, while those are really incredible, there’s this hilariously poor sketch made by a witness that has gone viral on social media.

People couldn’t help but laugh at the drawing as it looked nothing like a real person. Surely, it would be next to impossible for the cops to find the suspect using this drawing, right? What do you think?

But people had underestimated the cops. Amazingly, after talking to the witnesses and seeing the drawing, the cops were able to immediately pinpoint who the suspect was: a homeless guy named Hung Phuoc Nguyen, aged 44.

According to reports, last January 30, the suspect entered 23 N. Market St. at Central Market in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Upon seeing that the shop’s employee went out, he pretended to work at the shop and was able to steal an undisclosed amount of money. He fled on foot.

Police were stumped at first as to the identity of the suspect; it seems there was no CCTV at the shop but witnesses soon came forward to help in the investigation. The suspect was described as “a male 30-40 years of age, 5’4” tall, petite build and was possibly South American or Asian.”

Of course, that description fits at least a hundred men in the city but a witness volunteered to make a sketch of his face.

The police released the sketch along with the suspect’s name and description; although they soon had to defend themselves after netizens laughed at the sketch.

This was not done in jest,” the Lancaster Police Department wrote.

After the initial release, some Investigators and veteran Officers recognized the physical description and modus operandi for the theft suspect. While the sketch provided by the witness may have appeared amateurish and cartoonish, it, along with the distinctive physical descriptors, jogged the memory of at least one investigator to provide a potential suspect name.

That potential suspect information was passed on to Off. Rothermel. A photo array was prepared and later shown to the witness that provided Off. Rothermel with the description and sketch.

The witness positively identified Hung Phuoc Nguyen M/44 as the suspect that impersonated the standholder and took the money at Central Market.

So, can you spot the resemblance? No??? You’re probably not meant to be a police investigator then… LOL.

As for the suspect, he was not yet arrested because the cops could not find him at his usual hangouts.
