Haixia was born with a blind eye but his functioning one went blind in 2000 after an accident at work. Meanwhile, although Wenqi was born without deformities, both his arms had to be amputated after an accident when he was 3 years old.

The pair soon became fast friends, especially after realizing they could never find a decent job with their physical issues. So, they leased 8 acres of land and received funding from the government to plant a forest. Thanks to this, they were able to earn money in a decent manner and restored dignity in themselves.

The work was quite difficult but the two had long developed teamwork. They had to grow saplings from cut branches so they won’t have to buy seedlings to grow their forest. Because Haixia has arms, he was the one tasked to climb trees to get the best cuttings while Wenqi would act as his eyes. Haixia would also be the one digging holes in the ground.
