The Supreme Court in the Philippines has just released the results of the latest bar exams. But while we congratulate all the new lawyers across the country, we also offer our condolences to the family of one of these passers.
Bryan Anthony Zambo, who hails from Zamboanga in southern Philippines, was among the 1,731 (out of 6,605) examinees who passed the exams but, sadly, he passed away from an accident mere weeks before the results were released.
Bryan’s high school sweetheart and now widow, 35-year-old Charmaine Zambo, felt ecstatic that his dream of becoming a lawyer has come true yet she also feels devastated that he died even before receiving the great news.
While on his way home from an official business trip to another city in southern Philippines last April 7, the 6-wheeler truck Bryan was riding figured in an accident after losing its brakes. Bryan leaves behind not just his high school sweetheart but also their two kids, a 3-year-old boy and 7-year-old daughter.
Charmaine recalled how Bryan was always urging their daughter to become a lawyer even at her very young age. The dedicated dad who would have been the first lawyer in a family more inclined to science and business courses will never know that he passed the bar exams and will never get to see his dreams come true on his kids.
What a tragic story… Condolence to the Zambo family.
