For several months, Zach Baldwin and Catie Winona Bossard planned a trip to Vail Mountain in Eagle County, Colorado. Catie thought it was just going to be a private weekend trip just for the two of them but Zach had other plans…
When they arrived at the resort, they rode a gondola and headed up to the mountain top for lunch. Almost immediately after they stepped on the scenic viewing area with a huge wooden deck, in his excitement, Zach dropped to his knees and asked, “Catie Winona Bossard… will you marry me?”
Catie said “yes!”
But Zach wasn’t finished yet…
He revealed, “Everyone is here but I have a second question for you.” Catie looked up and was surprised to see their family and friends running towards them, with big smiles on their faces.
“I have a second question. ‘Would you want to get married today?’ Everything is set up. Your dress, plans and EVERYONE is here,” Zach continued. Seeing that she was getting speechless, he added, “Catie, do you want to get married today? I have everything ready to go in about 3 hours.”
Catie would later reveal that she and Zach had actually talked about marriage but she did not expect that he would propose on their mountain trip. Still, she was ready to tie the knot with him and after processing the exciting turn of events, she finally said, “Yes. Let’s do it!”
The wedding preparations were among the quickest ever done but Catie said it was something that she wanted; after all, she didn’t want to stress on the preparations and was afraid she would miss someone on the guest list. Having Zach prepare everything was a great relief for her.
The engagement ran for just around 4 hours… They would get married on the mountaintop, with a stunning view of the valley and the mountain range behind them.
It was an intimate event – and was definitely extra special!
