Stress is a normal part of life. Everyday, many events happen to us that can put stress in our bodies. We cannot avoid stress but we can do things that may lower our stress. It is our body’s reaction to any change that requires an adjustment or response. Our body is designed to experience and react to it–whether it’s a short term situation (i.e getting stuck in a traffic jam, having a deadline for work etc.) or a major life event (getting a divorce, losing your job etc.)
Stress can be positive, in a way that it keeps us alert and ready to avoid danger. It only becomes negative when a person faces continuous challenges and the body is not able to experience relief or relaxation between these challenges.
