Fireworks had always been a fascinating sight to see but I know you will be as amazed as I am when you see this sky ladder made of fireworks! Dubbed as the “Sky Ladder”, this awesome creation was made of fireworks that appear to climb up to the sky. This would have made a greater impression if the background music was Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” but the effect is fantastic nonetheless…

This stunning display was created by Chinese contemporary artist Cai Guoqiang who is known for using gunpowder in his artworks.

To celebrate his grandmother’s 100th birthday, the artist thought it would be great to create the stairway to heaven in her honor. It was released in Quanzhou City last June.

Check out the awesome pyrotechnic display in this video shared by Trending in China:

Just in case you were wondering how Guoqiang was able to achieve this awesome effect, the 500-meter superb creation was actually made of a network of wires shaped like a ladder and laced with fireworks. The artist then used a weather balloon to launch the structure up in the sky before lighting up the bottom.

Still, even knowing how it was done, I am still amazed at this spectacular sight.
