A puppy named Meesha was surrendered to the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS) in Maryland, US, with her brother Charlie. One of the requirements for pets to be eligible for adoption is that they must be spayed or neutered.
A family fell in love with Meesha, especially because she was quite gentle with their 11-month-old daughter. While the adoption papers were prepared, Meesha underwent spaying.
After the procedure, however, Meesha was disoriented and had begun whimpering. Thus, Surgical Assistant Dennis Moses took her in his arms to soothe her, even cradling her like a baby as he showered her with kisses while also singing songs to calm her down.
The sweet video soon became viral, gaining over 11.2 million views just weeks after it was posted by the rescue center on its Facebook page.
Baby Meesha was coming off her anesthesia and was a little scared because her body felt so weird. BARCS Surgical Assistant Dennis Moses took her out into the quiet hallway to comfort her. One of our awesome volunteers just happened to be walking by to capture this sweet moment. Thank you to Dennis and all the staff who work long, tireless hours in the background of our shelter—saving lives and loving the animals. (Turn on the sound, it will melt your heart!)
