Formula Rossa, a roller coaster located at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is known as the world’s fastest rollercoaster – and we are not really surprised because Ferrari is, after all, a brand known for speed!
With speeds going at 239 km/h (149 mph), Formula Rossa is so fast that even with its length of 2.2 km (1.4 miles), the ride only lasts for around 1 minute and 32 seconds.
Check out this point-of-view video of the rollercoaster:
But it seems that speed is not always good. One man had an unforgettable experience while riding the fastest rollercoaster in the world. In a slow motion clip later shared on social media, the man was shown to be in utter surprise after a pigeon hits him on the throat.
With the rollercoaster going at top speed, the bird did not really stand a chance. It literally exploded on the unfortunate man’s throat – and the horrified man wasn’t sure how he should react with all that blood splattered on his throat and chest! Yuck!
Indeed, such things are expected to happen in this 52-meter (171-feet) tall ride, so much that riders are required to wear protective glasses to protect them from the impact from insects and airborne particulates; although this man did not just encounter an insect but a bird!
