Eugene Finney was on a family vacation in Huntington Beach, California when he was attacked by a shark. He was bruised and bleeding but ultimately managed to escape with no major injuries.
The near-death experience would probably leave most people traumatized and no one would expect that a few days later he will be thanking the shark.
The shark attack has left him with extreme chest and back pains which prompted him to see his doctor. The doctor found out that the chest pains was caused by internal bruises in the thoracic cavity. But what the doctor discovered next has hit him harder than the shark attack. He has a tumor on his right kidney.
The cancer was still on a very early stage and the doctor was able to remove it without the need for radiation or chemotherapy.
Eugene said that if the shark attack didn’t happen he would not have known he has cancer at an early stage. Sometimes hardships in life are blessings in disguise.
