While many women learn about their pregnancy roughly around the first month, it took Shelby Magnani 6 months to discover hers.

She was experiencing sharp pains on her sides that she went to the ER only to discover that she’s pregnant. Aside from the pregnancy bomb, she also learned that she was carrying a pair of mono-amniotic twins, a rare kind of twins!

The twins were delivered via c-section shortly after, weighing 4 lbs and 3 lbs; they had to spend months in NICU but are expected to survive as both are doing quite well. Doctors told them that carrying mono twins is dangerous as one or both of them could die because they are sharing the same amniotic sac and placenta.

Still, the births of Anna and Ava have taken that bad news part away, allowing the surprised parents to take care about their rare twins the best way they can.
