Matthew Anoaʻi or more popularly known as Rosey in WWE died on April 17, 2017 at the age of 47. The family haven’t said anything about the cause of his demise. Some people believed that this has something to do with his heart condition. In 2014, Matthew was diagnosed with a heart disease.
Rosey was the real brother of Roman Reigns (Leati Joseph Anoaʻi). Rosey wrestled for WWE from 2002 to 2006. Rosey left WWE to wrestle in Japan. Then in 2007, he participated in the reality series Fat March which is a contest wherein overweight people could win $1.2 million. All of the contestants are heavyweights and the show is about losing weight. However, he wasn’t able to finish the race because of his knee injury.
Reports said that Roman Reigns was absent during his Monday Night Raw show before it got announced that his brother died.
The family released their statement last Tuesday over the untimely death of Matthew Anoaʻi:
“The Anoa’i family is mourning the loss of Sika’s son, Matt aka Rosey, due to an untimely death.
“We want to let his fans know that he loved them and the wrestling world so much. In his passing, he left three beautiful young children and a heartbroken family. Please respect the privacy of his children and family as they mourn the loss of this kind, loving, gentle man, who was a father, son, brother and a superhero to us all.
“Our family appreciates your prayers and continued support during this very difficult time.”
He is survived by his ex-wife Amanda Vandeberg Schall and three children. The two sons’ name are Jordan Iles and Koa Rodney Anoai while the daughter’s name is Madison Alani Anoai.
