85-Year-Old Pianist Effortlessly Plays Difficult Piece by Franz Schubert

Most old people are already delicate and cannot move as fast as they can when they are still younger but this 85-year-old grandmother from Japan proves that despite her old age, her talent in playing the piano never faced away.

A video of her playing Franz Schubert’s Impromptu Opus 90 No. 4 was uploaded on YouTube by user kimurama1 which gained a whopping 552,795 views as of writing.

“Impromptu Opus 90 No. 4” is a difficult piece since it switches keys twice and it has a 10-page score which at one time contains a non-stop stream of quarter-note chords for both hands but this didn’t stop granny from playing the entire song effortlessly. Though she had needed the help of a page flipper, she still managed to flourish a wonderful music.

She plays the piece filled with emotions and just like any other talented pianist, she looks like she’s having fun while playing as she leans forward and jives with the keys as she’s playing.

After finishing the Impromptu, she took a moment to relax before taking a bow with a big smile. As she stood, she needs a little help to stabilize herself with the piano and the chair.
