Adorable 4-Year-Old Boy Cries with Happiness after Stepmom Vowed to Love Him Forever

It was the union of an airman and a marine but the solemn ceremony would soon become the talk of the town and would take the internet by storm after the groom’s 4-year-old son cried tears of joy after hearing stepmom promise him she would love him forever.

According to witnesses, 4-year-old Gage had marched down the aisle like a grown-up as he followed his dad, U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Josh Newville, to the altar at the wedding that was held in their hometown in Ripley, New York. The marriage vows were great but what happened next was so remarkable that it would soon go viral, with people gushing over this sweet young boy.

After Senior Airman Emily Leehan finished reading her marriage vows to Josh, she called on Gage to join them at the altar and told him the following:

I want you to be safe and to try your hardest and to be a good person. I know that you and I will butt heads. But I hope with all my heart that as you become a grown man, you will understand my methods and realize I have only done what is best for you and that I love you.

The last thing that I hope you learn is that you are a very special boy. You are so extremely smart, handsome, and kind to others. You have helped shape me into the woman I am today.

And I may not have given you the gift of life, but life surely gave me the gift of you.

He might still be 4 years old but Gage understood every word of what Emily said and felt the impact of these vows on his life. Even as Emily said those words, Gage began crying and his sobs nearly drowned out his stepmom’s voice.

Needless to say, there was no dry eye in the ceremony at that moment. According to family friend and videographer Michael Gallagher, Gage’s tears were definitely not due to stage fright and that the boy must have felt emotional, especially because Emily had been there since he was very young.

As for Gage’s mom Käli Nuckols, she’s thankful for Emily, too, because there would be more people to love her son.

As his mother I can say she’s an awesome addition to the family and they love each other so much. He’s got so many people that love him, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!” Käli commented on Good Morning America’s Facebook post.
