Adventurous Malaysian Photographer Fearlessly Shoots Couple’s Prenuptial Pictorial in a Volcano

A wedding is a very important event in a couple’s life so they would definitely make it as memorable and as romantic as possible. After the engagement, the couple usually holds a prenuptial pictorial where they would have their best pictures together before their actual wedding day.

During prenuptial shoots, the couple will choose a specific concept. Depending on the couple’s creativity, they can go as far as traveling to distant places for garden shoots and beautiful spots and even in unusual places, too. However, to achieve all these, the couple often acquire the services of a photographer whom they know will be able to meet their expectations.

For couple Danny Ong and Krystle Lee, they thought of making their pre-wedding shoot extraordinary. And since they wanted an extraordinary theme, it also requires an extraordinary photographer; so they acquired the services of a great Malaysian photographer named Keow Wee Loong who is best known for his ‘bold’ and ‘fearless’ photography skills.

Luckily, Keow agreed to be their official photographer.

“A couple asked me if I knew any mystical place to capture their wedding photo. I said, ‘’Say no more, challenge accepted.'”

The location Keow selected for Danny and Krystle was the Ijen volcano complex located in Indonesia and is famous for its stunning electric blue flame.

Since the location is not accessible by car, the couple and Keow had to hike for 3 hours just to get into the place. They were also constantly on the lookout for rangers because they don’t want to get caught and won’t be able to carry out their plans. Sounds adventurous, isn’t it?

Capturing perfect photos under low-light conditions through the thick smoke from the volcano was tricky, but for someone as great as Keow, he was able to take photos just as how he wished to have them taken. They just wore a gas mask as their protection from inhaling volcanic gases which are hazardous to the human body.

Krystle’s dress was slightly damaged from climbing the hill but then, it was a good thing she has her gown at home which she would be wearing on their wedding day.

In the end, the pictorial went successfully as they were able to take photos which seemed like these were taken from ‘another planet’. They said they could even feel the heat from the flames of the volcano but then, they enjoyed the pictorial which lasted for 5 hours.

Indeed, the couple is lucky to have Keow as their photographer!

Apparently, Keow made waves on social media for sneaking into a radioactive town in Fukushima, Japan and climbing the world’s highest bridge to propose to his Polish girlfriend.
