China Glass Walkway ‘Cracks’ When Tourists Walk On It

A tourist was caught on camera looking afraid for his life when the glass bridge on which he stood appeared to crack under his feet.

The famous glass footbridge, located in the Taihang Mountains in Hebei Province of China, is suspended over 3,800 feet above sea level.

And the least we can say is that the bridge gives big scares to the visitors!

In a video that recently went viral in all social media platforms, a tourist was walking on the bridge, when it suddenly cracks under his feet.

Fearing for his life, the man falls to his knees and crawls towards the edge of the bridge.

Do not worry, the man is fine. It was all special effects put in place by the bridge managers to make people believe cracks, screens depicting broken glass were placed between some plates of the bridge, while sound effects mimics the noise of a cracked glass.

But these special effects did not sit well with everyone, especially Chinese netizens who remembers the accident that occurred in Yuntai in 2015, when a glass bridge also suspended in the mountains cracked beneath the tourists, causing a mini stampede. Thankfully, no one got hurt during the incident.

Meanwhile, Taihang Province local government apologized after the outcry caused by the special effects to unsuspecting travelers.

According to the news site Channel News Asia, however, it’s questionable just how sincere this apology really is.

“The effect is so life-like, you won’t be able to tell if it’s the glass or your heart breaking.”

Would you still dare to cross the infamous bridge in China?
