People say that a single picture can paint a thousand words. I’d say, a picture can also capture a thousand different emotions at once, thereby preserving that fragment of time forever. When you capture a picture, you also capture that moment of time in a single photograph. However, Stephan Wilkes, a New York based photographer did an amazing thing–his photo series, “Day to Night” captured the transition changes of famous places in his beloved city, New York, from day to night.

This project required great dedication on Wilkes’ part. I’m in awe upon seeing these photographs.
Gramercy Park, NYC
Looking at these photos, I can say and conclude how the photographer expressed his love for his hometown–he dedicated a lot of time and effort just to be able to come up with these photos.

Washington Square Park
Look at how the photos seem to blend within itself.. Its as if there are two time zones blended in one picture!
This got to be one of my favorites among the photos— the photos seem to tell us once again that New York City, indeed, is a city that never sleeps. 🙂
