‘Hulk-Like’ Muscular Pigs Has PETA Concerned

Shocking video footage showing ‘double-muscled’ pigs has been doing rounds online and spawning controversy about genetically modified animals.

These ‘hulk-like’ pigs were bred by a farmer in a pig farm in the Cambodia, Banteay Meanchey province.

The shocking photos and videos have been going around the internet and were posted by a Facebook page called “Duroc Cambodia”.  Many have been accusing the breeder of using hormones and steroids to turn the pigs into nightmarish monsters.

Duroc is also selling insemination kits to people wanting to breed their own. Their unnatural physique is most likely caused by genetic modifications. In fact, they have been sharing updates about the pigs since December of last year.

Some of the videos however show how the pigs struggle to walk under the weight of all that muscle mass, trying to keep their heads up.  Aside from these, one thing noticeable is they have enormous testicles.

According to Metro, the animal rights group PETA was not happy after viewing the photos and videos.

“Hulk-like pigs are the stuff of nightmares, not meals, and those who are genetically engineered are also likely to be born with painful health issues.”

Aside from pigs, double-muscling is also practiced in cattle, with Belgian Blue breed known as the “bodybuilders of the bovine world”. This type of breeding is believed to be fueled by greed, as the breeders look to maximize their profits by artificially increasing the amount of meat per animal.
