A mummy unearthed in Mongolia (a country bordered by China and Russia) is sparking countless debates as to whether it is proof that time travel exists because despite being around 1,500 years old and buried sometime around 6th century AD, it appears to be wearing a pair of Adidas boots!
This mummy’s hands and feet were intact; though its body has decomposed. The grave set 3 meters deep was found by locals in the Altai Mountains, some 2803 meters above sea level.
While the mummy’s supposed Adidas boots sparked a frenzy among the social media community, scientists and archaeologists are not so interested in its shoes, only mentioning it in passing and commenting that the mummy appears to be an ‘ordinary’ citizen since it was not buried with the trappings often associated with nobility.
Still, within the grave were a number of things that could later help scientists discover more about this mummy’s life for it was buried with 4 sets of clothing, a kettle, a clay vase, and horse which came complete with a trough, a saddle, and a bridle.
The mummy and its belongings are now on display at Khovd Museum – and might draw thousands of tourists to the country due to its Adidas boots!
A number of people are claiming that the fact that the mummy was wearing this kind of shoes simply proves that time traveling exists, especially considering that fashionable shoes did not even come into being around the 12th to 13th century and that Adidas, the German company known for producing the trademarked parallel stripes (3 stripes) was only founded in 1924!
What do you think of this mummy’s shoes?
