She Didn’t Know That Her Simple Gesture Would Save Someone from Suicide!

Sometimes, it’s the little things that we do that count the most. We may not know it at the time, but there are times that our simple gestures can make somebody’s life take a 360-degree turn, that’s why spreading kindness can go a long way. This is what happened in the inspiring and touching story that we’ll share to you.

In a Facebook post shared by a student and mother named Casey– she recently went to grab her daily cup of coffee from a Dunkin’ Donuts near her college campus, but this particular morning was much different from the rest. She noticed a homeless man sitting on the side of the road, who appeared to be picking things up off the ground but she couldn’t tell exactly what his purpose was until she looked a little closer.

To her heartbreak, she realized that the man was gathering any dropped change he could find and putting it in his pocket. In that moment, she decided to not just get her coffee that morning but pick up a hot meal for him, too, since he could clearly use it. When she brought him a cup of coffee and bagel, she got much more in return.

Setting aside what she needed to do that morning, she sat down next to the homeless man and talked to him. She learned that the man’s name is Chris. Chris proceeded to talk to Casey about things he probably hasn’t shared with anyone in a very long time — like how he never knew his dad and how he lost his mom to ******. He talked about being homeless, turning to ***** and living his life on the streets. And as Casey sat there and listened — after having already bought him something to eat and drink — Chris realized that there are still good people in this world.

As Casey got up to leave, Chris handed her a handwritten note. When she got in her car and opened up the crumbled piece of paper, she couldn’t believe what it said…

See his note below:

today I went to Dunkin and saw a clearly homeless guy singing on the side of the road and picking up change. Eventually…

If changing a person’s life takes just a brief moment of kindness and a simple act, imagine the difference that each of us can make by doing a good turn daily. Sometimes, even a smile or, in this case, a cup of coffee and small conversation is enough to change a person’s life. Casey proves there are still a lot of good people in the world.

It must’ve been some kind of fate that brought her to Chris that day. If you agree, please SHARE this powerful story with your friends on Facebook!
