With her angelic voice and ethereal performance of Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me”, Ashley Simone Teves of Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental in the Philippines turned all three coaches’ chairs in the blind auditions of The Voice Kids Philippines.
Her effortless performance immediately caught the attention of Coach Bamboo Mañalac who swiftly turned a few seconds into Sim’s (short for “Simone”) performance. Coach Lea Salonga turned in the middle of Sim’s singing while Coach Sarah Geronimo waited until a few seconds before Sim finished singing to turn her chair.
But aside from marveling at her incredible performance, the coaches were surprised to learn that Sim is the daughter of a lawyer and a licensed embalmer. Of course, that does not matter in the competition but it does add an interesting back story to this charming girl’s performance.
It would be wonderful to watch this girl perform again in the coming episodes of the talent show. Good luck, Sim!
