Single Mom Sparks Heated Online Debate for Paying a Year in Rent after Receiving Tax Refund

A single mom with two small children has recently gone viral after paying a year in rent using the money she received from tax refund – and she sparked a heated online debate as to what she should have done with the money and whether it was right to pay off a year in rent.

Christina Knaack wrote, “I got back $5600 on my taxes. Instead of buying my kids the latest Jordans or fancy electronics I paid my rent for the YEAR. Knaack’s post quickly went viral, with plenty of people praising her for getting her priorities straight and for making sure that her kids have a sure home in the next months.

But the internet is full of people who think they are better than others – and these people made bad comments about Knaack’s decisions, saying she could have used the money for down payment on her own home instead of forever renting. Thankfully, many strangers also defended her decision, saying that had she done that, she would struggle in paying the monthly mortgage because she did mention she only lives on minimum wage and has to raise the two children by herself!

Still, while the post sparked heated debates, especially because others said they have done the same thing and didn’t go viral on the internet for it, many praised Knaack and told her to continue what she’s doing because she’s headed in the right direction.

We do hope someone reads the post and get her a better, higher paying job since many people on the thread had also bashed her for working a minimum wage job even if she has two kids to feed…
