Teen Receives $16,000-College Scholarship after Helping 78-Year-Old Customer Cut His Meal

A teenager doing a good deed to a 78-year-old man having trouble with his food receives awesome reward for her actions, including a $16,000-scholarship from Texas Southern University and other forms of monetary reward for the kind girl.

It all started when 78-year-old Adrien Charpentier asked help from Waffle House employee Evoni “Nini” Williams in cutting up his food in La Marque, Texas.

My hands are not up to par. If I want to cut my meat, I look like I’m stabbing it,” Charpentier explained.

The teen didn’t hesitate to help the diner. She stopped what she was doing so she could cut up his meal to bite-sized pieces.

Another diner, Laura Wolf, saw the kind deed and took to Facebook to praise the girl.

I don’t know her name but I heard this elderly man tell her his hands don’t work too good. He was also on oxygen and struggling to breathe. 😔 Without hesitation, she took his plate and began cutting up his ham.

This may seem small but to him, I’m sure it was huge. I’m thankful to have seen this act of kindness and caring at the start of my day while everything in this world seems so negative.

If we could all be like this waitress & take time to offer a helping hand….🤝 #wafflehouse #kindness #givingback #offerlove #bekind #goodnews

The post went viral, reaching so many people who were impressed by the teen’s kindness.

When later asked about it, Williams admitted she didn’t think she did something particularly special as it was “something I would do any other day.” She added that she didn’t hesitate to help because the diner’s hands “were not functioning too well”.

But the public was so impressed that they raised money to reward the waitress for her kind deed. After learning that the teen was working at the restaurant to save enough money for college, Texas Southern University offered a scholarship worth $16,000 so she can finish her education. Isn’t that wonderful?

La Marque Mayor Bobby Hocking also declared March 8, 2018 as Evoni “Nini” Williams Day, making the teen cry tears of joy…

Who would have thought a simple act of kindness would be rewarded so greatly? Keep doing good!
