Scientists researching about the complex lives of the ants poured liquid cement into a hole of an anthill to learn how these industrious tiny creatures really live.
It amazed them that the small hole actually took 3 days to fill up – and they poured in 10 tonnes of liquid cement!
After a month, the scientists came back to the spot to begin uncovering what lies beneath the anthill. It actually took them several weeks to uncover what they later dubbed as the “ant megapolis”.
What’s quite amazing is their discovery that the anthill is very organized, with sections dedicated for various functions. It amazed them how the entire colony seemed to be created by an architect.
