This Couple’s Epic Halloween Stunt Wins the Internet as They Went Around New York City in Their Star Wars ‘Levitating’ Speeder Bike!

Star Wars fans, look here! While Halloween season may soon be over, and while most of us did our activities over the weekend, we’re not quite ready to say goodbye to the spooky season just yet. To help you keep enjoying the seasonal spirit, we have a video of a couple who definitely won the Halloween with their epic stunt!

YouTubers Jesse Wellens and Carmella Rose went all out with their Halloween costumes and their video has since gone viral with over 2 million views and still counting.

Why did the video become viral? Aside from the fact that it shows the couple dressed as Star Wars’ Luke and Leia riding around New York City, the more impressive thing here is that they went around the city on a ‘levitating’ speeder bike. Super impressive!

Before we take a look at the viral video, first, have a look on the original clip. Here’s the original scene from the Star Wars movie:

Jesse and Rose, with the help of friends at Lithium Cycles, built a replica of a Speeder Bike that looked like it was actually floating and rode it through the streets of Manhattan. The sight was exhilarating enough that even New Yorkers couldn’t help but be amazed (and we are, too!).

Now here’s their epic video:

YouTuber Casey Neistat, who has teamed up with Jesse before (they did Halloween pranks like Aladdin and Silver Surfer taking magic carpet rides), captured the entire escapade and vlogged about the whole affair, giving us all a glimpse into the making of the epic speeder.

Jesse’s Instagram also gives a bit of a better glimpse at how they created the optical illusion of a levitating speeder. Essentially, Lithium used strategically-placed mirrors to hide the wheels and give viewers the impression that there was empty space beneath the machine.

Here’s the behind-the-scene footage of the epic Halloween video:

What do you think of their idea and costumes? Aren’t they awesome? What are some other awesome Halloween costumes you’ve seen this year? Share it with us in the comments!
