For going out of her way to help an elderly diner with special needs, a young waitress at the Mason Dixon Family Restaurant in Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania earns praise online.

The touching story was shared by netizen Carlotta Shelton Lopata who overheard the elderly woman complain to the young waitress that her foot was aching. Instead of ignoring the older woman to get back to her duties, perhaps, the young woman asked her to step to one side.

Then, the young waitress removed the elderly woman’s shoes, massaged her feet for a bit, and tenderly put back the shoes.

Touched by the heartwarming gesture, Carlotta shared snapshots of the good deed on Facebook where, as expected, it went viral. It is amazing to see that there are still a lot of people (especially the youth of this generation who often receive negative feedback) who care for strangers and are willing to go out of their way to provide comfort for others.
